a getaway with intention

Imagine being surrounded by Chianti hills as you slow down, relax & express yourself…

Imagine painting outdoors, in the still of the Italian countryside, without having to rush to get to the next item on your ‘to-do’ list done.

I have personally planned this trip, from location, to food, to activities – intentionally creating the perfect setting to learn, explore our creative side and to spend quality time painting together.

We will be eating gourmet Italian meals together, exploring a medieval art town, tasting wine, olive oil, and taking in some beautiful Tuscan sunsets among other experiences.

Swag bags with all painting supplies will be provided to each attendee. We will have special guests from Maimeri Blu & Princeton Brushes. More on that later.

This is your time to relax, unwind, inspire and be inspired, as you soak in the culture, company and creative process.

I hope you are as excited as I am for this experience. I noted some general info surrounding the trip below under FAQ’s, so you can better prepare.

visit a medieval town

Sienna, a UNESCO listed historic centre and a must-see when in Tuscany.

Siena is a historic, beautiful city surrounded by a well-preserved 1,000-year-old wall, and it is best known for the Palio horserace and the Il Duomo di Siena.

Here is a city perched atop not one but three hills, over-looking the beautiful Chianti countryside. With an ancient city centre that conjoins in the middle to form the magnificent Piazza del Campo is a gloriously sloping, expansive public square that is shaped, rather unusually, like a conch shell.

You can find one of the most beautiful cathedrals in all of Italy here, the spectacular ‘Il Duomo di Siena’.

*Tickets to visit sites must be booked in advance and are not included.

Suggested Points of Interest

1. Duomo di Siena
Siena is most known for the cathedral (Duomo) that is considered the most beautiful in all of Italy. It also houses work by Michelangelo and Donatello.
For information on ticket costs for entry, visit link below.
https://operaduomo.siena.it/en/visiting/

The cheapest ticket costs €7 (€10 when the floor is uncovered), but this just gets you into the cathedral and Piccolomini Library. For €17, you can add on the crypt, baptistery, museum, and the Panorama of the New Cathedral. €22 includes the Gates of Heaven experience, where you walk on the balconies on the upper level of the Siena Cathedral and get a bird’s eye view of nave. It is well worth the extra money.

2. The Piccolomini Library

A cultural landmark in the city, it contains animated frescoes on its walls and vaulted ceilings painted by the Umbrian artist Pinturicchio. On display are also rare illuminated manuscripts and codices that contain work of the some of the best Italian illustrators during the 15th century.
