More scoop on me

How it all started…

I graduated from George Brown College in Toronto with a certificate in graphic design. I freelanced as a graphic & web designer for many years. I still do. That’s the branding/designer side of me.

Six years ago, I decided to try some watercolour while I was working on a custom project for a client. Being a romantic, I really wanted to branch out into making gorgeous floral watercolour wedding invitation suites. So, after following a bunch of other artists on Instagram, I decided I was ready to paint florals. I tried my hand at peonies and loved the outcome.

The first YouTube video…a peony

And that’s how it all started.

I didn’t quite make it in the wedding invitation scene, but the tutorials seemed to speak to people and now here we are.

My vision

YouTube tutorials started as a way for me to ‘give back’ and help others with the knowledge I had.  Over the course of the 2020 lockdowns it blossomed into something much more. It grew into a watercolour community that paints and learns with me. Online (over YouTube, Zoom & Instagram) and off (over the Paint & Sip Events).

My hope is that people fall in love with watercolour and use it as a creative outlet that provides them with relaxation and fun. A therapy of sorts that leaves them with something pretty to look at or share with loved ones.
